early 50's truck ID

Howard et, al,
   A fellow from the ORD has an early 50's truck that they have parked
at thier hunting camp. They only use it for mud bogging and hunting. It
is starting to need a tune up and he doesn't know what he has. The frame
has many layers of paint, mud, rust, so he can't see the frame VIN
number. The body doen't exist, save for the firewall. The engine has the
following stamped on it.
>on the lower rear left side of block
>236191R1 appears> On the right front
>stamped vertically b0241 and 829659 are
>stamped side by side 
What can you make of these numbers?
