Mandera's Under Way

That crazy Tom Mandera is underway!

He pulled out of Olympia around 11:00am PST headed back to Helena with a 77
parts Traveler being flat towed behind his Scout. The Traveler is missing the
windshield, top, and grill assembly, so it looks pretty funny. We loaded two
engines in the bed of the Traveler along with sundry other parts and I'll be
really surprised if that traveling junk yard doesn't get stopped by the
highway patrol at least once along the way. It's hard to say which looks
works... Tom's dirty Scout or the moldy Traveler.

Now everything is perfectly legal mind you... he has one of the Traveler
license plates duct tapped to the rear bumper and a 3 day trip permit stored
in a plastic baggie duct taped to the same bumper. He has magnetic trailer
lights stuck in the bed near the back. One minor problem with the lights
though... the wiring connected to his Scout is not right and he didn';t have
time to fix it. When he turns on his running lights, the turn signals and
brake lights don't work. He'll be fine until dark!

But if anyone is stupid enough to follow closely behind him, Tom felt that the
Traveler would offer a good crumple zone between him and his Scout. <grin>

He should arrive home maybe 1:00am Monday in time to shower and get to work.
Is he nuts? By the way, his current GF Michelle is a very nice gal, but will
need time to understand this Scout phenomenon. I'd advise Tom to go slow and
watch her closely before making any permanent plans... if ya know what I mean.
We sure had a close call last year!

Fleckster: Wave if you see him go by.
