Pitman Pulling Problems - redux
Thanks for all the great ideas. Unfortunately I was hoping to get some
help getting the pitman arm off of the tie rod. It was actually very
easy to pull the pitman arm itself with a puller and the impact wrench.
I guess I should of said "tie-rod pulling problems" in the subject, but
I am a sucker for alliteration. I have made numerous attempts to get
that ball joint seperated. I tried a tie-rod spreader with no affect at
all. I tried the pitman arm puller (just ended up mangling the bolt). I
tried a 2 ton 3 jaw puller. I even haulled out with a 10lb sledge. I
tried all of these in combination with heat and WD-30. BTW: what the
heck is PB Blaster that I heard recommended and is it carried at your
standard parts stores? It has become a war now. I will get that off if I
have to fire up the O2 and cut that #!*&! off.
Peace,
Eric
