I've noticed this too.  I've also noticed that the engine misses more as I
retard the timing from 15 deg.  I love the adjustable timing control.
When the engine is warm I have to retard the timing a bit when I'm going
to hammer it on an on-ramp or other full throttle situation.

I also get way more hesitation with stock timing setting.
