Snoqualmie Pass going west is a pretty gentle grade, and shouldn't
be a problem unless there is ice.  You probably have more to fear
from returning skiers rear ending you than anything else.  My
advice is to arrange your trip to be descending Snoqualmie in the
middle of the week, middle of the day.

There are several devices that can be used to turn on your towed
vehicle's brakes for help in slowing.  Both hydraulic and
mechanical controllers exist.  Also, if you rent a tow dolly you
can get one with brakes.
