After scraping on the frame rails without luck, I was going over the door
jambs one more time, and chanced to turn around 180 degrees to be greeted by
the VIN plate on the door itself. Misguided assumption was that the door is
not a very permanent part of the truck, so they wouldn't put it there.
Embarrassed, but hey, we're all friends. Now I'm gonna lose those cool old
Nevada plates and have ugly new Cali plates. :-( I've been putting that off
for as long as possible. Thank you very much for the help, Howard.
