Doug,

So is it Avogadro's number (Amedeo Aavogadro 1776 - 1856) or avogadro's
number?

Bernoulli's principle (Daniel Bernoulli 1700 - 1782) or bernoulli's
principle?

Then again - a newton is lower case.
