As Rik said, you can't (shouldn't) mix and match Ring & Pinions.. for 
that matter, you have two DIFFERENT gear ratios.. which means you REALLY 
CAN'T switch the Ring from Good into the Diff in Ugly (and related 
Pinion).  You *CAN* put the *carrier* from Good into Ugly's diff, using 
Ugly's Ring & Pinion.

On a Scout II with Dana 44s?  YOU BET.  On a Jeep?  Nope. :-)

That's my understanding.. just like dropping in a Detroit.. or just 
putting a Tracklok into your existing setup (which is what you ARE 
doing)... Dan gets to learn gear patterns! :-)
