Worried about bending the frame?  Use and attach the bracing material in
a way that during impacts the bracing material will bend rather than
compromise the more permenant features; such as the frame.  I'm notorious
for using lighter steel but integrating more braces.  Is it better? I
don't know, it's just the way I do it.
