33 gal tanks
Danny,
Just when you think you've finally seen or heard of it all. My tank
from Northwest came with the fuel supply tube welded to the bottom of
the tank about in the middle of the bottom and coming out of the top
of the tank to meet the fuel line. It sounds as if my drain is in
about the same place as yours. I moved my pickup to that drain
connection, but several times (2) I got in a position where I was
sucking air while gas was still in the tank. One time, I had backed
down a very steep hill. DEAD Another time I had a couple of
gallons of gas left and was driving along a fairly steep side hill
with the drain location being on the uphill side. DEAD What I was
going to do last weekend was to put a tube in the tank from that drain
plug into the middle of the tank. Hopefully that's what your two tanks
already have.

John,
On both of the 33 gallon tanks I have, one in Good which is
actually
35 and one going into Ugly that is 33, the pickup is on the front edge
of the tank. There is a drain plug next to that in the corner. The
tank
in Good has a piece of metal bubbled over the tube to protect it from
damage. I may want to do this to my other tank as well.
Have you actually had problems with fuel pickup on a steep hill? I
guess I should just keep the tank full on steep climbs huh?
