Typically a pre-runner is a very fast 2wd with lots of suspension travel
and some load carrying capacity... as it's name implies, it's used in
Baja racing for a few reasons... to "pre-run" a course and get an idea
on what it's like.. or to run ahead with parts n' such so when the 4x4
racer comes to a point, the pre-runner's there.. or maybe to get parts
and crew to a wounded race rig...
If you think a Suburban handles washboard roads well at 35mph... you
should see a pre-runner do the same at 100mph without a problem. :-)
