Brad N. Rear Axle noise

If your vehicle has a powerlock limited slip, the bolts on the carrier may
have backed out and sheared off. This happened to me once and I was told
that they (Pwrlcks) did this sometimes. I was told to pull it out after
25-30,000 miles and check the tourqe on the bolts. 

Not to scare you or anything. The best thing to do is start looking for
the cause. pull the back cover and look for loose, damaged parts. (make
sure you have a new gasket and enough gear oil on hand should nothing be
wrong, so you can slap it back together)  also check the wheel bearings
and brakes.
