Darrel,

I have both and I will degree the camshaft. But the whole reason I want to
bother to degree the cam in the first place is to *verify* that the cam
manufacturer did what they said they would. I don't just want to find out
what they did, only to have nothing to compare this against. Granted at
least I can verify they were consistent with all the lobes.

I'm attempting to gather as much information as I can on the specifications
of a stock cam really is supposed to be in the hopes that I can verify the
Federal-Mogul cam meets this. Having specs for other aftermarket cams is
secondary and for comparison purposes only. I'm just trying to learn more
about the cam differences is all... I've already made up my mind to stick
with a stock cam. The IH shop manual gives opening and closing points for
the stock cam, but they didn't bother to mention at what lift these specs
were taken, so they are next to useless for accuracy. They are just one
more clue in the bigger puzzle.

Eldon mentioned he found some specs in his reference library for me and I'm
waiting for him to get time to get those to me in some fashion. Right
Eldon??? <grin>

Thanks,

John L.
