RE: Swapping 345 oil pan and pickup
Hey Tark,
From what I understand, the scout II oil pumps are not available new or
rebuilt, but you can get a rebuild kit for them (Mollins? ~$30). Pretty
easy job to rebuild, I think John L posted to the digest, the rebuild
technique. It was really good, and I wish I kept a copy of it. (John, do
you think you could find it again and post it or send me a copy?) I am not
sure about the front sump, but on the rear sump and the Scout II "double
hump" oil pans, the dipstick tube mounts to the oil pan, not the block, so
you don't have to worry about blocking the old one off. Just remove the old
dipstick tube from the engine and add the scout II dipstick tube.
