John,

So possibly, if the solenoid failed good enough, it could allow high 
amperage to run back up the wires to fry my fusible link? Is that why it 
is there? I hope that is the problem, I'll be replacing the link again. 
Replaced the starter with a new one yesterday or the day before. 

I'll be disassembling the solenoid and checking for damage too.
