Tom,

Summit makes a 100 amp one-wire.  Probably not as cheap as the normal 
but seems to me it was about $120.  Works great.  The only problem is 
that the "kick in" speed is kinda high, about 2000 engine rpm on my '79 
Scout.  The cut-out speed is lower.  It stays in till about 20 mph in 
high gear.
