At 11:54 on 12/25/98 the boys in the white van down the street from Peter
Ferris' house tuned their Watkins-Johnson receivers and intercepted a cry for
help from hofs@domain.elided (John Hofstetter) in a parallel universe. It did not
fall on deaf ears!
