Good point.. and I came to this same conclusion on further thinking...
So.. how about two shackles that pivot in the *same* direction? Say the
forward shackle pivots forward, and the rear shackle pivots forward.. the
4-link would locate the axle, the spring could still elongate and shorten
based on weight and compession..
