Wow, that's half the price of Summit. As I told you, everywhere I checked
out here only carried Stant. Before Summit sends a rebuttal to the
digest, I buy a lot of stuff from Summit and I bought my thermostat from
them, and I don't want to make them mad, and ....... (g)

No, it's straight forward. As I remember (Heaven help us), the bypass
hose can stay hooked up, and you only need to remove the top part of the
housing provided you don't disturb the gasket and seal on the bottom
half. However, it would be a really good time to replace that accursed
bypass hose, if you haven't done it lately, as it is subject to failure
at all the wrong times, and is a bear to change out in the field.

Good, that information would be useful, although I hadn't been aware of a
problem. I usually pump the top radiator hose by squeezing it, and I was
under the impression that I was getting the air out.
