Scout 800 points questions-/-Pertronics conversion

I was wondering if anyone else had the problem when timing the points on a
1967 Scout 800 with the 196 4 cyclinder motor that I have. Inside the
distributer the points are screwed onto a "movable" or floating plate of
*balkalite like stuff*. When trying to time it it moves causing the point
gap to open and close. It seems like its held on from underneath by a
spring of some type. It seems to stay put whan driving it but I cant time
it worth beans as it moves when tightening the screw down.

Help

Can the guy who preformed the pretronics ignighter conversion using the V-8
parts respond and give me a list of needed parts and prices. If I remember
JCwhitney has the cheapes deal?? John L. i seem to remember you discussing
this one.

Is it true that I can not run an MSD coil? If so then what aftermarket coil
can I run to get a hotter more powerfull spark?
