HELP!!!

Hi all. 

 I have a slight problem with my ignition?  I set the dwell and it checks
good.  Ran it up to 2000 RPM's and the dwell was good so I figure my
distributor is good.  When I went to drive it, it spit and bucked and back
fired through the carb.  At idle it purz and I can rev it up fine to except
occasionally is spits up through the carb.  I held the timing light on it and
every so often the light goes out.???  When this happens you can hear the
engine stumble.  What it causing this?  

I have new... Spark plugs, cap, rotor, points (they are very clean),
condenser, wires and coil.  The timing is at 5 Deg and is rock steady all the
time.

Help me please I have to get the beast running ASAP.
