Flaring Tool
I want to get a heavy duty [double] flaring tool that I can use for brake
lines. Ridgid lists tools for 45 deg. SAE flares as well as 37 deg. SAE
flares [http://www.ridgid.com/cat48.htm] but only in 45 deg. for double
flares [Model 345]. First, are IHC brake applications going to use only 45
deg. double flares? Second, Ridgid says it works in soft copper, brass,
aluminum and mild steel(JIC and Bundy) tubing. Should I look for a tool
that will handle stainless steel as well or doesn't anyone use that for
brake lines?
BTW, Grainger says $71.05 for the flaring tool, double flare adapters and a
cutting tool. Probably closer to $100 from Snap-On [anyone with a current
price list?]
Thanks for your comments, Mike
