Winch Plans & MM Winches

Fleckster and others considering MM winches -

Add new p/s hoses & a cooler. You can make a very effective cooler from a
length of steel brake line. Just bend a long U shape in front of the
radiator.

Re. cooked MM winches
It seems a weak point of the hydro winches isn't the winch itself, but
the junk floating around in some old power steering pumps & boxes. Old,
contaminated fluid *will* break down & overheat quickly. One of the
4x4 mags (Petersons?) actually tested a hydro vs electric winch. They
used 20 year old p/s fluid vs a new battery! Guess which one did better?
Duh - flush it!
