Scout 80 woes

Hey y'all,

I finally finished the repair of my front axle - new differential,
patched the holes where the shrapnel shot through the housing,
new battery when the darn thing wouldn't crank, cleaned out the
fuel pump and added a filter before the pump when the darn thing
wouldn't start. And now...

The clutch is ineffective. Depressing the pedal has no effect,
the scout is still in gear. There's plenty-o-fluid in the clutch
master cylinder. Any ideas as to what to do? Could this problem
stem from the fact that, when the differential exploded, a piece
wedged between the housing and the ring gear and kept the
ring gear from turning?

Thanks,

john
