Flashing marker lights illegal? Where do we live anyway?

Tom,

        I can't believe this would be illegal.  Saab 900s are delivered to the 
US with the side marker lights to flash with the front and rear blinkers.  How 
is this possible, and what is illegal about it?  Mabe only in Kalifornia!

        This is Arizona, land of Concealed weapons, and legal switchblades.  I 
wonder if they know about my Flame throwers, and Potato Cannons?  I'm talking a 
full mile with a potato.  Kids, don't try this at home....
