Eric,

Hotter plugs would help the fouling.  My MSD seems to combat this pretty 
well too.  You might experiment on how hot you can go before you get into 
problems for extended highway driving.  All it would cost would be two 
more sets of plugs.

Don't use the oil filter with water.  I imagine the paper would dissolve 
in the first 5 minutes.
