Tom,

Keep after the carb.  It simply has to be the carb.  Nothing else 
accounts for the symptoms.

BTW I can get 16 mpg on level interstate if I stay around 60 mph.  Well, 
I used to be able to get that.  Think the mileage has dropped lately.  
I'm so close to installing the EFI that I don't want to even mess with 
the carb.

But first all the ceramic tile for the house and hardwood for the family 
room.  Debtors prison here we come.
