Thanks for the offer - I'll keep it in mind.  Meanwhile, I'm going to see
what happens with my front shaft when it's installed properly.

Oh, by the way - my rear shaft is slightly out of phase too!  I really wish
I could talk to the previous owner!  Any of you Washington State Binders
remember seeing a lime green '79 with black stripes on 4 out of 6 panels?
Yep, the truck made it all the way here to PA, with a 3.07 rear and a 3.73
front diff.  I wonder what other surprises are waiting for me?

Joe,
   Try using some B'laster on the slip joint. Let it penitrate and put
some more on. If that doesn't break the rust nothing will! If you need a
good shaft I can have new joints pressed into my spare auto shaft and
you can use it next week. I won't need it back until we go to CO next
year.
