Jim:
The sharp, sudden blows of an impact wrench (either electric or pneumatic)
have always worked for me. Electric is often "rentable".
With a bar, the problem is often how to keep the engine from turning. With
the "suddenness" of an impact wrench, the engine's own "stationary inertia"
is usually sufficient. Before getting an impact wrench, I had to drop the
oil pan & block the crankshaft in order to keep it from turning.
And it is a normal, right-hand thread, by the way. ("Righty-tighty,
Lefty-loosey" is the technical term <g>)
