throttle cable

Super Scout Specialists has 'em.  One's coming my way :)

When I got stuck one Sunday 3 states from home, I adapted a 
Motormite p/n 04191 for a Ford pickup truck.  I did it in the parking lot,
and it lasted just over a year.

Is there a bushing in the gas pedal? or does the cable just sit in a little
slot? (which cuts the cable eventually)
