Chassis ground?  What chassis ground?  Oh, you mean the one I haven't had 
time to hook up!  ;)

I fixed it.

I yanked the starter from the 196 (how easy it is, when the motor's on a 
pallet), and put it onto the 304.. hooked things back up, and it spins 
beautifully, and is easy to start now.

Whew.

I'm curious.. the 196 harness had 2 connections to the starter - large 
center, and one wire to the top post.

The 304 harness makes all 3 connections... one wire top, 3 or 4 in the 
large middle, and one to the bottom terminal.

Why?
