Nationals - thank you

IH everybody,
I arrive home late Sunday night from the Nationals. I stopped on the
way home to help some people out who had some boat trailer problems.
The drive was uneventful, except I stopped outside of Louisville KY to
refill the x-fer case.

Now onto important matters. I would like to thank Super Scout
Specialists and John Glancy especially for helping me fix my truck to
get back home. When John found out about the "incident" that Tom and I
were involved in, he told me that anything I needed in parts and service
were available to me, and "my shop is your shop for whatever you need".
John really exemplified why I like the scout hobby (habit?) so much,
the people are great, and John is a really great guy. SSS got me an
axle shaft, and had a new bearing pressed on it for me, and got me a
replacement rim for the rear tire. John would only take money for the
new bearing and the labor for pressing it on for me. Note, his shop did
this for me with a phone call, and sent it over to the fairgrounds, so I
didn't even have to go over to SSS. (I did make it over to SSS anyway).
John and SSS definitely deserves a great big thank you and your
business. I know John was extremely busy during the show, but he took
the time to help out someone who was in trouble. Next year I will be
volunteering my services to help him out with the show, in any capacity
that I can. I was wondering if any other digesters wanted to volunteer
also? Something to discuss later.

A big "Thank You" goes out to the Comers. John, Pansy, and their
daughter Jennifer helped me out with so much. The night of the
incident, John drove Tom over to the cabin, and stopped at the Glancy's
to pick up his 5 gallon gas can, while I made my phone calls to my
insurance company. The next morning John and Pansy drove me over to the
impound lot and helped me evaluate the damage and get the terra started
again. John was very patient with all my questions, concerning rollover
damage etc ( I was a little bit paranoid). Later, John picked up the
spare rim from SSS and brought it out to the fairgrounds for me. The
Comers also assumed the Tom transportation duties, that should have been
mine, until we were sure that Tom's cabin mates arrived.

To all the digesters who helped me out with information and tools (Dan,
Dennis, Tom, etc) with changing out the axle shaft. Not to count all
the moral support of the numerous digesters who shall be named later.

To Tom M., whose spirits, right after the "incident" kept mine up. I
believe the quote of the incident, was Tom, with the question, "How long
do you think it will be before you can laugh about this?" Well, with
all the support and spirits of the digesters, it was later that night
(the only reason that I could laugh at it, was that no one was injured,
and everybody walked away from the accident, thank God). What a great
bunch of guys and gals!

Words have a hard time describing the great people that I met, and
talked to, and that helped me out this weekend.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Epp
(with a less serious post to follow soon to tell of all the people I
met)
