T'all tailgate support cable retractors

I have gotten a couple of requests for ordering information for these
retractors, so here is the information:  They are made by the

You want (if you have a pre-1969 T'all, at least) the type 114-A
spring, rated at 27-29 lb.  They are $15.05 each; I paid $5 shipping
(to Colorado) for a pair of them.  The person who I talked to, who
remembered selling the part to IH, was Bill Palmer.  He suggested that
I send my order to his attention.

I hope that this is of help to those of you trying to get your tailgates
into better working condition....
