Doug,
Ford solenoids used to have the manual push button built in. I haven't 
seen one with a manual push button for sale for years.

When you iced the solenoid, did you tighten the big nut holding the 
numerous wires on the solenoid. This is often the cause of starting 
problems. Also icing will not help with burnt contacts that have burned 
from arcing.
