abuse/overflow

I'm not going to abuse you John, that's reserved for Tom M (for the time being).
I did the reinactment of Toms overflow.
Rode my bike home from work, took the radiator cap off of the SS II, started the truck up and went into the garage to grab some pans to catch the overflow. Overflow started within 15 seconds of ignition, I let the Scout run until it hit temp (190 something) and the thermostat opened. There was not a big gush when the thermostat opened, which surprised me. The radiator overflowed continually at idle. The overflow would stop when I ran the engine up to 2000 RPM (why would it stop?).
In all the overflow was about 1/2 quart which would make a large puddle. Some one hypothesized that the inflow to the radiator exceeds the outflow, this seems likely to me. I can't figure out why the level of coolant would drop at higher RPM's.
I did not see bubbles in the radiator during the experiment.
This leads me to believe that Tom's overflow may have been normal.
How much coolant did spill out Tom?
Did you folks stay up all night? I came into work and there were *5*
new digests waiting for me.
