Mark, the racing folks I spoke with about MSD said that they had a high
failure rate if exposed to heat & vibration, and to always mount them in
the
cab with rubber vibration isolators. These guys had worked with quite a
few of them by the sounds of it.

Actually, I only know what I've heard here on the digest. But, I can tell
you
that if you are even thinking about a diesel->gas swap, and think you may
ever need to pass an emissions test, be afraid. Be very afraid.

Lastly, I didn't have time to replace my hubs yesterday (I usually plan on
four
times as much time as a bad mechanic would require), so I had a bad
mechanic
do it. He almost refused, insisting that the hubs were fine, and noise was
coming
from my transfer case. Just do the darned hubs, I insisted. Today I drove
120 miles, and it was perfect. I've still got the old hubs, and a rebuild
kit! and
will keep them around for the future.
