Been reading lots of tax tips as I get ready to leave Mother MCI, and
head out on my own:

Don't forget about all the financial incentives to owning "big iron":
if you have a company, you can accelerate depreciation on any vehicle
over 6000 GVW - effectively allowing you to expense up to $18k in a
single year.  This means that, assuming your company has taxable income,
you could write off the purchase of a many IHs as company vehicles!
