The Scout is only 7" longer wheelbase (92.8 vs. 100). I have more rear
overhang. Not a huge issue.

While I haven't measure, I *think* the Scout II is a tad bit wider than the
Bronco.

The current difference comes from Mike (Kelly, the Bronco's owner) actually
clears the 33" Buckshots on his Bronco pretty well.. I still have a little
rubbing to take care of. He also runs a Detroit rear, ARB from (vs.
Tracklok/Lockright). That alone isn't the determining factor.

Both weigh over 5,000lbs when on the trail.

The big difference, IMO, is:

196-4cyl, close ratio 4spd, 2:1 Dana 20, 4.09s, and 33x12.50s on steel
wheels (more weight, same overall size)

Mike runs:

351W, NP435 granny tranny, Bronco Dana 20 (2.46), 4.09s, and 33x10s on
aluminum wheels.

Where I have to go fast and/or slip the clutch to get my 196 to push my
Scout over things, Mike puts his Bronco into 68:1 creeper gear, and lets the
351 idle.. more of that finesse than I'm able to accomplish (ask Bill
Thebert about Holy Cross city...)

I currently have a 32:1 crawl... Mike has 68:1...

At least, that's my excuse. :) He's also been working on his Bronco for
over 10 years... I have a lot of catching up to do. :)

Time to finish that Bronco gear swap, and a V8.... heck, I'm tempted to seek
out a wide T19 if I put a V8 in... instead of 40:1 (w/ Bronco gears) I'd be
at 63:1... just about right for finessing things..
