scout/land rover

over engeneered where it counts and fixable with minimal tools on the
trail.

When IHC stopped trying to do a knockoff of the Jeep (Scout 80) they
came up with a great general purpose vehicle (Scout 800). HOWEVER,
putting Dana 27's front and rear on a 3500 pound vehicle is a really
poor choice. I agree that most of the early Scout is very well designed,
if you set aside the Jeep hardware. It has a way of not letting you
forget it for very long at a time, though...
