Re: pink slip needed

Owen:

If I am repeating myself, I apologize. But I think this is ironic.

I now have five cars and one motorhome at my suburban house. I'm
planning on getting rid of two cars so I can park the motorhome down my
side yard along with my Scout. As soon as we have a garag sale, I'll put
another car in the garage. I still will not have one car in front of the
frontmost portion of my garage and I keep my garage door closed.

For years, neighbors would get almost fanatical about my having five
vehicles here. But , I had two in the garage and three in my side yard,
behind a tree and fence where only residents of my home could see them.
For some reason, these people just had to let me know how riduculous it
was that I have five cars. It was often suggested that that I move to
the country and live "like those farmers do with old cars stacked all
around their property".

And, if I do move to the country as I want to, my "old cars" still won't
be stacked around the yard. That is what I want outbuildings for. To put
the cars in so they are protected from the weather.

But, some of those same people that get all red faced about my cars,
which aren't in their view anyway, have two or three cars that are
parked in their driveway or the street at all times. I say, people who
live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

I have come very close to calling the city police to report my
neighbor's vehicles that sit in the street when they rag on me about my
cars. We have a city ordinance that no vehicle is allowed to remain in
the same spot on the street for 72 hours or more. The police will mark
the tires at night and then have it towed if it doesn't move for 72
hours.

Funny, I have five cars but I haven't had any trouble complying with
city ordinances.
