Mike: Welcome aboard. I strongly suggest you pull out the tailgate latching mechanism and go through it. You can get that liftgate to lock. Joel is actauly pretty good with that as he was monkeying around with my Travler top gate latch just a few days ago in WA and seemed to know what he was doing. Tom H.
