Alan,

I just can not believe this.  If your truck is supposedly stock, this isn't
so.  Is your Tach properly installed (do you have one, or are you guessing
at revs?)

4.09 gears were the lowest offered in the Scout II, and even with smaller
29" tires, 3800RPM (redline) is 80mph.

With aftermarket 4.56 gears, 3800RPM is still 72mph.

More commonly, with 3.73 gears, 88mph redline, or 3.54 gears for 93mph.

I just don't see you turning 4500RPM...  

You would have to have 5.88 gears, 30" tires, and 4500RPM, to be at 68mph...
