Tranny and Transfer Case ?

Im new to the list, so bare with me, i own a 77 SSII with a 345, my 
question is how do i find out what kind of tranny and transfer case do i 
have?  Its all still stock.  Also im making a 2 inch body lift at work, 
what other kind of modifications am i going to have to do to make my 
lift work? Thanks
