Re: Firewall plugs

The lower plug on the passenger side should be the engine harness,
and shouldn't have any connection to the turn signal. Those plugs are
kind of hard to come by. Some salvage places (Federal Valley Motors here
in the Denver metro area) will sell the entire harness complete with plug
sometimes, but don't count on it. You can find them on Scouts in junkyard
pretty easily. The only tough part is removing them without breaking the
plastic tabs that hold them into the firewall. The plastic gets brittle
after 20 years or so-go figure. The wires have a metal end that fits into
the plug with a kind of spur. Just press in on the spur and the wires
will slidd out the back of the plug. If you plug has wires that go
nowhere, this is probably because they were disconnected and directly
connected. Those plugs wear out and collect filth, and many people just
wire around them rather than trying to replace them. Hope this helps.
