Expensive adaptors.

I don't have a Scout, or else I sure that in 30 seconds
I'd see why this won't work:

What IS the meaningful differences between a
Scout Dana 300 and a Jeep Dana 300?

'Cause, '80 and '81 Jeeps have the GM 4cyl,
which is no different than the 4.3 V6 or the
small-blocks at the business end.

This GM engine bolts to a SR-4, the biggest
piece of junk transmission ever, BUT it happens
to have the same bolt-pattern/shaft as the regular
T-18.

And, right behind there, is a Dana 300.

And, they use a hydraulic clutch so you can mount
the thing in any vehicle, no hassles.

So you have Chevy->T18->Dana300. Can't this
work somehow? It's definitely going to move quite
a bit forward, both with the short-shaft T18 and the
Chevy distributor (oh, but that's not a problem for
the diesel).

I knew a place that had a pile of those bellhousings,
they were also in Concords et. al. Guy sold me one
for $20. What's that, 1/30th of an Advance Adapters
Chevy-IH kit?

Not promoting replacing IH motors with Chevys, but
would love to see a turn-around on the normal Jeepers
robbing Scouts!
