Re: Those darn spring bushings
I seem to recall someone posting their method as:
Buy a long bolt, and a washer or three that just fits inside the
spring-eye. Get a few washers larger than the spring eye (or just big),
and a couple "spacers" that are larger than the bolt.
Run the bolt through the bushing, with the "tight" washer on one side.
On the other side your bolt sticks out. Put your spacer (that's bigger
than the bolt and bigger than the bushing) around/over the bolt, and put
a washer on the end of the bolt.
Now put your ratchet (or impact wrench!) on it, hold the other end tight,
and let the bolt tighten up, "drawing" the bushing out of the spring-eye
and into the spacer.
Sounded like a good idea to me.
