My guess is.. YES. So long as your '74 has an IH 4cyl or V8, and that
T'all has an IH V8 (only need to worry about a 70s with an AMC 401). If
you have a 6cyl, it's an AMC motor, and the IH bracketry is different
from the AMC (go find a Jeep to rob)

I'll try to describe the bracket on my Scout (I *knew* I should've taken
some "before" pictures, d'oh!)

It has a flat mounting plate for the compressor, horizontal, with four
slots that run .. side/side in the engine bay, at the four "corners" of
the "plate".

The bracket mounts on the passenger side of the engine.

The mount is triangular shaped, with a top/bottom bolts on top of each
other, and a bolt that's farther in to the engine that's about centered
up/down with the others, but of course over.

If you look at the front of your engine, the stock Alternator only
bracket has 3 mounting bolts.. 2 on the front of the motor, one that
wraps around to the side.

The AC bracket uses the two bolts on the front of the motor, and a third
that's below the top two.

I think SAMs club had the 31x10.50R15 BFG Trail TAs for $90 each? So..
$360 for 'em? I'm guessing $400 would definitely put you into a set of 31s.

As for me.. I bought 4 used Trail TAs for $225 on Ford rims. Two are
like-new, two are rather worn (and, when I mounted 'em back on my '77
yesterday to go wheelin', they're looking like they should be replaced
soon). My only problem was the center holes on the Ford rims... too
small. My great deal turned into an OK deal when I traded the 4 rims for
some 15x8 chrome modulars @ $100. Then again, $325 for some chrome
wheels and the 31s wasn't bad, either.

When I bought my spare, I paid $50 for a new chrome wheel, and $20 for a
used 31x10.5 Wrangler that's in decent shape.
