serious oil burning

Howdy...

I've recently bought and am working
on a '73 1210 pickup, and after doing
valve seals, carb rebuild (which wasn't
nearly as hard as I thought it would
be), and some minor tune up things, and
now it seems to be burning more oil than 
gasoline-- huge clouds of blue smoke!

I've got no idea where to start on this one...
intake manifold->engine block seals?

Any advice/ideas?
