Well I took Steve's advice and ordered 6 emission plugs from G.U.S. They
only cost 2 bucks a piece, but 11 to ship them UPS to Michigan. What an
improvement! Must be the most price efficient improvement I've done.
After removing the air pump and plugging the holes the 345 just seemed
noisy on acceleration, even with the cat and single exhaust. Don't get
me wrong I like the sound of a v-8 as much as anyone else, but it wasn't
a pleasing noise, just annoying. Now the motor is quiet, all you here is
exhaust. 
I need to get a set for the 304 in my fiberglass project, since the
headers seemed to magnify the noise.
