The rocker arm tries to push the valve down again before the springs
can push the valve back up from the previous cycle.  The cure (in
hi-po apps, at the expense of greater valve train wear) is stiffer
valve springs which close the valve quicker.  It's characterised by a
_marked_ loss of power, but it's not usually dangerous, at least in a
Scout where there's plenty of room in the cylinder.
